How do you become a good personal bodybuilding coach

A good personal trainer in this day and age, when almost everyone else has coaching credentials, is someone invaluable.

Exorbitant price, more than one training, flattering reviews... What defines a good professional, and how do you become one? Contrary to popular belief, a well-crafted coaching course is not everything.

1) Base yourself on experience.

If you are just beginning to practice, you should enrol in a coaching course, because personal coaching carries with it a great deal of responsibility, especially for the health of the clients. Athletic training alone is not enough to run a business.

On the other hand, a trainer who has completed a training course but who has never really grasped the iron should not be considered as an expert. He should have years of experience in training. So train and progress on your own, and only after that start giving pieces of advice. You should not cooperate with others without reason, you can't learn everything about the sport from books alone.

The most important thing is practice, results and experience, and that takes time. The price of the classes and the salary of the personal trainer is not an indicator of his skills!

The best coaches rely not only on knowledge, but also on their experience, which they acquire over the years, training daily, exchanging opinions with other coaches, cooperating with nutritionists and doctors of sports medicine.

2. Learn all the time

You often find people who have completed one course and think that the doors of world sport are open to them! Unfortunately, they are sorely mistaken. A personal trainer should be a competent person, and if he/she wants to rely on a large crowd of like-minded people to help him/her create the body of their dreams, he/she needs to broaden the scope of his/her knowledge.

Meticulous study of methods, practice after practice and thousands of hours of practice - that's what the road looks like!

This is the only way to become the best in the industry. Personal trainer is a profession in which you have to constantly update your knowledge.

Otherwise, mistakes are possible and lagging behind the dynamically evolving strength sport, which means falling out of the industry.

3. Take a reputable course

There is no right course! Nowadays you can come across a lot of coaching courses that are taught by delinquents, who present fundamentally flawed ideas, supposedly 'modern methods', without understanding the basic principles of strength training.

How can a person, who takes such a course, work with a client? Unfortunately, such situations are happening more and more often.

Personal coaching is, first and foremost, experience backed up by years of practice. Doing a good course of coaching involves not only mastering the theoretical material but also the practical part, which should be included in every training session.

4. Proven training programmes

Besides courses a personal trainer should study books and methodologies of renowned and respected gurus of bodybuilding and other strength training. Do not reinvent the wheel but offer your clients tried and tested popular training systems
